Albanian investment conglomerate Balfin Group said on Tuesday it has signed a franchise agreement with Danish variety retailer Flying Tiger Copenhagen to open 50 stores across the Western Balkans over the next four years.
The first store will open in Skopje, North Macedonia, in October, with additional locations planned in Albania, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro, Balfin said in a statement.
The expansion is expected to create around 400 jobs in the region, according to the company.
The deal aligns with Flying Tiger Copenhagen’s strategy to grow its footprint in Southeast Europe. Founded in 1995, the Danish retailer operates over 1,000 stores in 38 countries, offering an eclectic mix of home goods, toys, electronics, and lifestyle products.
