Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama hosted Ivanka Trump, daughter of U.S. President Donald Trump, for dinner in Vlora on Wednesday, discussing potential strategic investments and urban development projects in the coastal city, local media reported.

The meeting brought together Ivanka Trump and a group of international architects to explore ideas for high-end tourism and development initiatives, with particular focus on Zvërnec and Sazan Island, areas considered to have high strategic and tourist potential. Jared Kushner, Trump’s husband and former White House senior advisor, did not attend the evening meeting; he was in Vlora earlier in the day before departing for Davos, according to Euronews TV.

Following the dinner, Rama and Ivanka Trump briefly spoke outside the venue under tight security before traveling together by car toward Orikum. Ivanka Trump had arrived in Vlora in the morning and toured the Novosela and Zvërnec areas, as well as the Porto Novo coastline, escorted by police.

This was not Trump’s first visit to Vlora. Last June, she and Kushner spent part of their summer in the city.

The projects discussed aim to transform southern Albania into a luxury tourism destination. Over 60 local and international architectural studios are expected to present high-standard development concepts, including luxury accommodation, marinas, residences, gastronomic zones, and leisure areas.

Kushner, who was granted strategic investor status last year, has proposed a €1.4 billion development on the 562-hectare Sazan Island, previously a military base. The plan includes a tourist marina, elite accommodations, residences, dining, and leisure facilities.

The discussions signal Albania’s ongoing efforts to attract high-profile international investors in the tourism sector, while leveraging its coastal and island assets.
