More than 110 countries have confirmed their participation in the Specialised Expo 2027 in Belgrade, marking the first time the international event will be held in the Western Balkans, Serbian officials said on Sunday.
The expo, scheduled to run from May 15 to August 15, will be held under the theme “Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All.” Organisers expect over 120 participating nations and more than 4 million visitors during the 93-day event.
“Just two years ago, Serbia earned the trust of 81 countries to host one of the world’s most significant international events — Expo 2027,” Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Sinisa Mali said in a statement. “This is an extraordinary opportunity to showcase our country’s potential in sports, culture, science, and as one of Europe’s fastest-growing economies.”
Mali will lead a government and business delegation to a special investment conference at the Osaka Expo on June 23, aimed at promoting Serbia as an investment destination.
Expo 2027 is expected to generate major economic and tourism benefits for Serbia and boost its global profile.
